Structured Literacy Coach

Tracie Hawkins

After 28 years in the classroom, I feel incredibly fortunate to begin this new chapter as the Literacy Coach at Jordan Hill Elementary. While my role has changed, one thing has remained the same—my love for literacy and my belief in the incredible difference teachers make in the lives of children.

Literacy has always been more than just a subject to me. I love watching a child discover the joy of reading, find their voice through writing, or experience that moment when something finally “clicks.” Those moments are what have made teaching so meaningful to me, and they continue to fuel my passion today.

As a Literacy Coach, my goal is to work alongside teachers. I want to build relationships, listen, share ideas, celebrate successes, and help teachers work through challenges. I believe the best professional growth happens when we learn with one another and when teachers feel supported, valued, and encouraged.

After so many years in the classroom, I know that teaching is both incredibly rewarding and incredibly challenging. My hope is to be a trusted partner for our teachers—a person they can turn to, learn with, laugh with, and grow with.

I am so excited to be part of the Jordan Hill family and to have the opportunity to support the amazing teachers and students who make our school such a special place.
